Modern Tactical Folding Knives – How Knives Have Changed

When you compare the modern tactical folding knives available today to 5 to10 years ago, there have been some tremendous changes. If you wanted to carry a good sized folding knife back then you would have had a large, heavy knife that you would carry in your pocket or on your belt in a pouch.

 These days the knives have become lighter, yet stronger, which makes carrying one even easier. Because of the pocket clip that comes with them, you can carry a tactical folding knife clipped inside your pocket and it is barely noticeable. You don’t feel it because of its light weight and someone can mostly only see the clip on your pocket and not much of the knife.

 The addition of the pocket clip really made a difference in how we carry the tactical folders. It has given us more carry options and we tend to carry our knives more often. You are literally limited by your imagination when it comes to carrying your folding knives these days.

 Being able to open your tactical folder with one hand has made a big difference also. In the old days you needed both hands, one to hold the knife and the other to pull the blade out. Now one handed opening is the norm making it so much simpler and faster. The innovation of the thumb studs or hole in the blade has been a big success.

 If you find yourself in a position where you have only one hand available to open your knife, you are in luck. In the old days you could forget about it, you would never get it open or you could use your teeth to pull the blade out.
