I’m not sure why you’d buy a knife to split wood.
I understand that many believe a survival knife should be strong enough to be used with a baton to split wood. But this shouldn’t be the main reason why you choose a knife. If you’re looking for a survival knife, think of all the tasks you’d need that knife to perform: cutting rope and cord, cutting food, skinning and dressing game (small and large), whittling triggers for snares, whittling kindling, cutting branches to make a spear, shelter or raft. All of these things require a knife you can easily and safely control, not a huge hunk of heavy, sharpened steel. Splitting wood is pretty far down the list.
In regards to this particular knife, it would be a poor choice as a survival knife and for splitting wood. When you split wood you need to baton on the back of the knife with a large stick. The sharpened teeth on the back of the knife would dig in to your baton and destroy it after a few whacks.
If you’re looking for what is commonly considered a survival knife, take a look at the Ka Bar Short Black. Length, blade profile, thickness, weight and construction are pretty much ideal and the price is reasonable.
If you want to split wood, bring an axe and a wedge.
