How much is a anvil or what else can i use?
Iv been wanting one for a long time and well money is a issue and i hear they cost their share in weight.
How much am i going to be looking at for a used one and where can i find one in chicago?
I don’t need anything that big, i’m not planing on doing sheet metal work just tool making, knives and tinkering.
For now i use a 20” piece railroad track for general small things i need flat steel from somewhere?
I was thinking of using a nice large flat piece of discarded steel from a junkyard but i’m afraid it will be too big for me to take back.
Any ideas on improvised anvils i can use from a salvage yard?
i’ve used an 8″ section of I-beam bolted to a heavy wooden base for years.
