anyone used one? im just curious because it looks like they may have a good idea going there with them but at the same time bad idea?
pros: no handle material to soak up blood and guts
one piece no moving parts design
3 different knives all for the price of one in some cases
cons: may become extremely slick when covered in guts
not a big enough handle to fit big pawed guys like me
cheap
whats your thoughts id like to see them in person but they could be a nice investment if they are of any quality
I bought a set at walmart for $20. I havent used them to gut out yet, but they are a pretty decent quality considering the cost. I got them because of the grip-less handles, and they feel OK with a pinky in the end loop. My hands are smallish (medium gloves) so no issue there.
I was thinking of wrapping the handle in no-slip grip tape (like for stair treads) but that would defeat the benefit of the grip less handles…. I find that with a decent supply of water field dressing isnt all that bloody considering.
