Knife Serrated

Knife Serrated
How long does a serrated knife wound take to heal?

I have a deep cut from a serrated knife on my hand by a knuckle, so there is some movement. I went to have stitches and they were removed 14 days later. The sides of the cut are healing well ( I think tthat’swwhee rethe smooth part of the knife was) but the rest iisn’thealing as fast. Im using steri strips right now to keep it in place. Its not infected and no tendons etc were cut (surprisingly ). Ive been told serrated knife cuts take longer to heal becuase of the jagged edges but how long is an estimate?

The depth of the wound usually determines healing time. Since you cut yourself by a knuckle, anytime you flex or extend your fingers, it’s hindering healing. Try not to use the injured hand if at all possible and think about applying a split to the finger next to the injury to keep it extended in order to keep the wound edges together. That will speed healing.
