Knife Olive

A poem I have written. Your thoughts and opinions please? Criticism is welcome, as always?
Trodden on from behind and placed by the
side of a road
dying and sick eternal pain sun bursting from
eyelids, all life
falls wilted and is at an end unto itself.
The world is gazing upon me
waiting for my next move, to crush me
against its stone cold embrace-
be a part of me!-
the air of which I breathe takes on a noxious
feeling I’m in the chair once again.
America! I’m sick and holding out my hand,
will you take it?
I’m a wilting flower on your crimson dashboard
crying for the breast of your meek humanity,
will you allow me to partake of your milk and
honey?
World! Your unions and alliances sicken me,
what bipolar existence to you live in
you cannot extend the olive branch with a knife in
the other,
the world is strewn with its holy days, and I am
still sick,
I await on you world to free me from my rusting
chains,
I am hungry and still weak, as a nation that is so very young…
That is a great poem! I liked lines 18-21 the most. You did a perfect job of describing how countries go back and forth treating each other with injustice and then equity in those lines in only a few words. At least that’s what I think was being described. Nice work!
