Can a minor (15) conceal a liner lock knife on there person or does it have to be visible?

I’m talking about in Michigan

Generally it’s fine, to carry a pocketknife, even as a minor. Assuming there’s no ill intent and it’s a reasonable knife in both size and appearance. I live in a rural area of Michigan and have basically always had a small pocketknife on me, even when I was younger than you are (always needed one in the barn).

One site I found that spells out the basics for every state is http://thefiringline.com/library/blades/knifelaws.html Basically it says for MI under 3″ is fine, over that isn’t as well defined. Here’s a shippin list from a retailer http://www.thebladeshop.com/Michigan_s/508.htm This is basically saying it’s a felony here to carry a knife over 3″ with unlawful intent. So under 3″ you’re generally good, over 3″ is technically legal, but can lead to harassment, and if caught doing anything else illegal can lead to problems.

Concealed for a knife generally means pocketknife, really very few people will have much desire to carry a large, bulky or heavy knife in their pocket very often. Bringing any knife to school is asking for trouble, but in general for most other places. a small pocketknife is no problem. Liner lock isn’t an issue, but automatic opening ones, as well as double edged ones are a problem.
