flying with illegal knife!?

i went t france and bought a butterfly knife and accidently brought it on the plane to canada (BC) in the luggage that goes in the cargo hold of the plane and they didn’t catch me or do anything so im wondering that dosent make any sense in canada butterfly knives are illegal so why did they do nothing. do they even check the luggage??

Most of the time, no. There’s a quick X-ray to search for bombs & such.. but they’re not going to go through your crap with a microscope to find something so trivial as that. Your only risk is being searched at customs.

Also, enforcing local law is not the responsibility of the airline. They are only concerned with the safety of the flight. Your lil’ knife poses no safety threat in your checked luggage.

A ballisong is illegal in Canada? Really? Wow.. that’s so silly. Canadians are cute.
