Knife Fishing

Knife Fishing
How long it takes for a small black ghost knife fish (about 2inch) living alone to outgrow a 55 gallon tank?

And will it be ok for the black ghost knife to live with a lionhead goldfish? ( To fish lovers , no worries i havent bought any of these fishes so no harm done :-) )

I just wanted to point out that the myth that a fish will not outgrow it’s environment is false. That is not true. They will eventually grow to their avergae size.

If they are in a larger tank though, they tend to grow faster then if in a smaller one.

I personally would not mix the goldfish with the knife. The knife might pick on the goldfish. If you want a few other fish in there, go with a few small semi agressive or even communty fish. (well avoild the small ones like tetras) Maybe three tiger barbs?

About how fast he will grow – I am not sure. It really depends on environment, his food and other factors. I do know that, like I said before, they grow at a faster rate in larger tanks then in smaller ones.

Just estimating that you have a few years though.
