Does Duck tape wrapped on your foot really help with Planter Facitas?

My brother said his doctor said it worked, I’m skeptical but will try anything! My left heal feels like a knife is bring stabbed in it from the bottom up.

Since then I’ve been very particular about shoes, orthotics, etc. No barefoot, no flat shoes, no slippers for more than an hour unless they have build in arches.
