What type of knife do i get for deer hunting?

So im pretty sure that you get the knifes with the tip that is curved back for breaking the bone. So short story, does it matter what type of knife, is there a certain lenth that is best? Also are The brand Buck knives good? or is there a better brand?

I have a drop-point skinning knife from Buck. I got it with a fixed blade and a synthetic handle, A folder will get blood in the hinge. The rubbery grip is easy to hold when slimy.

The “gut hook” is designed to “unzip” the skin. It does not work as well as I had hoped.

Were I to order another I would not have the gut hook. I would the plain version of that one or something like this

Buck makes good kinves. There are more expensive knives available, such as benchmade.
