Should i mind my son sagging his pants?
Recently, my son has started wearing his pants lower and lower, so now i can see his whole butt. He tends to wear tight boxers and boxer-briefs, especially his collection of Calvin Kleins. He wears them like this all the time, whether he’s wearing his skinny jeans, sweat pants, even on the sports field. What he tends to do is have his jeans below his butt with a short, tight shirt so you can see all of his underwear. He doesn’t seem to care and wears a belt simply for looks. My personal opinion is that he’s a teenager so can wear his clothes exactly how he wants. Therefore i let him wear them like this…
Does anyone else’s son do this? Do you think i should care or not?
Thanks for the feedback guys. I’m not too bothered that he does it as all of his friends do it also, even if they do look like they’re constantly about to fall off. He tells me he wears them so low because it feels good and makes him stand out – that would explain all of his pink boxer-briefs.
all i can say is that its a trend and he will come through it in a year or so, no longer. i wouldnt worry about it; there are far worse things a teenage boy could be doing, so just let him do what he wants. sure, it looks silly, but i would just go along with it. if you impose rules saying he cant do it etc., he will almost certainly think you are unreasonable and then he might go out of his way to disregard other rules you have set down. its important to know what matters and what doesnt when it comes to parenting, and i would say that this is something that you can afford to just let ride its course.
