Kilt Sgian

Kilt Sgian
How would you wear your Kilt?

How do you or would you wear your Kilt?

The traditional woolen heavy weight Scottish tartan version with sporran, hose, flashes, sgian dubh and ghillie brogues (the full charlie).

Or would you go alternative with say a 21st Century Kilt or UK in a gothic or punk style with your Doc Martins or military boots?

Or causal with say a lightweight SportKilt or NeoKilt to hike around in, maybe go hunting in the camo kilts, jogging or paint guns?
A UK is a UtilityKilt.
Elizabeth: That’s what my mother says as well. She hated the whole idea when I told her many years ago I was going to start wearing, and now she gets mad if I am not kilted. I wear traditional as a Piper, but I also have some sportkilts that I love to wear around the home, but they don’t have the exact look of a heavyweight. Then one UK that my wife got, but she like the punk look. I wear that around the home as well, but I like how both the sport and UK have pockets. That makes them handy and comfortable.

My preference is the traditional 8 yard wool in all but summer. I do the kilt hose with regular loafers/shoes or boots for casual wear, with a button or polo shirt. I seldom wear flashes or Sqian Dubh as I think they look too formal.

In the heat I generally wear 4 – 5 yard wool.

I wear my UK Workman once-in-a-while. I’ve got a couple Stillwater’s but they’re too big on me now. I don’t really like Sport Kilts, etc, as they’re too light of a material and we get a lot of wind around here…’nuff said…
