Folding Knives For The Big Time Angler

Emerson knives are the gold standard for people interested in real combat weaponry. Used through the law enforcement community and the armed service, you can find models available to individuals who are neither law enforcement nor military. Sharpened on one side for the most effective use, hunters, elite forces, and housewives all see the benefit from having an Emerson knife.

Emerson Knives, Inc is a company started by Ernest Emerson after his interest was piqued from a simple present given by his grandpa as a child: his very own knife. He was a skilled martial artist who dealt with combat weaponry, and while practicing, needed a certain knife for the training. Through sheer genius and within financial restraints, he chose to create his own.

His knife making capabilities amazed fellow classmates and so they started requesting special orders. He distributed these first designs without ever making a profit, like fixed blade knife. Watching the demand increase, he soon raised the rate, but this didn’t reduce demand for his handmade designs. Although it would be years before he started manufacturing blades for a living, he used that same pride in his work to become a success.

Before the Viper series was well known, he had pre-tactical variations of his knives. All of these models were liner lock folding knives. Although liner lock knives are made for portability and ease of use, the craftsmanship he put into his designs also made them visually appealing. Shown at knife shows and known for their beauty, these blades provided him what he needed. He now possessed the finances for making styles he preferred, which included combat knives.

Emerson also trained as a martial artist and noticed that a fixed blade knife was used in combat training, even though the same classmates preferred folding knives in real world applications, or folding knives. He fixed this situation with the developtment of a solid folding knife used in combat training in the real world. He had taken his prior models and changed the grip so they were less fancy (not highly polished and colored) than those placed on display. The tip was modified so that it would be thicker. The specific purpose of a Viper knife was to satisfy a need among military and law enforcement.

Knives such as the Commander are used by Navy Seals along with other elite groups inside the military. Needlessly to say, the durability of this knife has made it a favorite among several outdoorsmen. Other combat versions like the Kandahar plus the CQC designs include a fixed blade and are currently in use by Afghani military. The Karambit, with its design, is not like any others produced in the United States. Featuring its small curved blade, it is an obvious choice in up close combat.

Emerson knives come in automatic or manual versions. Don’t forget to watch out for limited edition and exclusive runs if your are a enthusiast. Find out about knife shows in the area, and never hesitate to ask about the specific use of the knife you are considering..

Emerson knives will occasionally take custom orders, but there is no guarantee. You can find plenty of versions available for purchase that custom made may not be necessary. Not everybody could pay for his knives, but as times have changed, that same value is available in less expensive versions so that everyone can buy one.
