Reebok Brand Shoes

Reebok is one of the finest known brand of shoes in the world, and legitimately so as the company found its roots in Germany in the 1890′s when Joseph William Foster created a pair of novelty running shoes with spikes in them for additional traction. In the 1960′s 2 of the founder’s grandsons renamed the company Reebok after an African word which was an African gazelle or antelope. Reebok remained primarily an European make of shoe, only being sold through Europe until 1979.

Reebok gained a big deal of popularity and attention in the 1980′s in America nearly the time that the aerobics craze was hitting and everybody was going to the gym. Reebok brand sneakers introduced their Freestyle athletic shoe in 1982 for ladies and women absolutely loved them. The freestyle became an icon of the fashion world through the eighties with 2 straps of Velcro across the top on the high-top versions of the shoe. The freestyle is still the first choice of shoe for cheerleading squads and aerobics fans.

They are major sponsors of the nation’s soccer League as well as the national Basketball organisation and nearly every other sanctioned sport in existence today. They have shoes to fit almost any need that you could have and like plenty of other makers, you can come up with your own Reebok brand sneakers on their website to offer you the power to design that perfect pair of sneakers to fit your personality.

A guilty, guilty pleasure, perhaps not one a left-wing feminist should be admitting to in public. Female boomers should recall yearly TV reruns of this Rodgers and Hammerstein production, featuring such delights as “Impossible” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?” It may appear a bit stark to younger viewers, but part of the charm of this 1964 network TV special, a remake of the live 1957…

Flower Drum Song [VHS]

$3.80

Rodgers and Hammerstein made BIG musicals–sweeping song and dance numbers, elaborate stagings, sweet heroines, and love struck but confused heroes. Flower Drum Song has all these elements, so why is it so little known? Perhaps because it had the misfortune to be released the same year (1961) as West Side Story, or maybe because at 133 minutes it’s overlong, or did the audience have trouble a…

Broadway, My Way

Broadway, My Way

$4.42

The people who felt betrayed when Linda Eder covered several pop songs on 2002′s Gold will be relieved that her follow-up, Broadway My Way, is a return to the Great White Way. As if to prove that she isn’t limited to either the songs of Frank Wildhorn or ballads, Eder tackles some well-known show tunes. The ballads tend to be overwrought, so it’s best to look for the uptempo numbers. The singer’s …
