is this considered a bowie knife?
i just bought this knife, 9 inches, described as a boot knife

is it legal to carry this in virginia? i looked at the laws, but they are pretty vague.
i intend to carry it on my belt with a sheath
They might call this a “dirk”. Anyhow as long as you wear it in the open it is legal. Like Arkansas and some other southern states there is no blade limit in Virginia. Just don’t hide that in a boot and you’ll be OK.
