Hilt Sword

help me unlock my sword from its hilt.?

I have a samurai reverse blade sword. I have kept it in storage for a very long time. I have just recently got it out of storage. I have the problem where the blade itself does not want to be removed from its hild or sheath. Could someone please help me in this problem of mine?
