Hanwei Practical

cheness kaze or hanwei practical plus?

which of these is better quality? They cost about the same and i have heard a few bad things about cheness quality but i think the hamon and tsuka look better on the pictures i have seen of the cheness.

Depends…are wanting it to show it off or for actual training and tameshigiri use?

I own one of each and the Cheness swords are not what I consider to be of great quality but they are cheap and decent for use. Hanwei swords have been my first pick since I began studying the sword arts in 1986 and still are. Although I will not purchase the practical plus because it has a leather wrap on it (which makes it slippery when you train for long hours) I do like their standard practical katana and the katana XL.

If you want a serious sword for training and for actual use in tameshigiri then Hanwei makes the Ronin Katana which is my primary study weapon. It cost a bit more but the quality is definitely worth the price.
