How do I remove the links from a watch?

I got a silver watch yesterday and the bracelet is a little bit too big for me. I want to remove a couple of links but I’m stumped as to how to get them off. Normally I’m fairly handy with doing DIY jobs but I just can’t see any opening to getting these links off. There aren’t any tiny springs on any of the links. Do jewellers use special tools to remove links??

each link has a spring loaded pin
on the side of the link there is a small pin depress this with the end of a ball point pen or whatever and it should pop out
if not take it to a jeweler watch and learn he might do it for nothing
from a old timer
