How many additional case fans can a 550W power supply handle?
I added two more 8cm case fans to my computer. I was wondering how much additional load my 550-Watt PSU can handle?
Here’s what I have.
2 – 12cm case fans
3 – 8cm case fans
Abit KN8 SLi motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ CPU
GeForce 7800GT GPU
200 GB Hard drive
1 – DVD drive
Oh, and there’s the fans in the PSU, CPU, and GPU.
Is this too much load for my power supply?

This web site allows you to put in your equipment and then figure out what you have left. If you can’t find the particular part you are using – then guess the highest wattage one you can find listed. I started plugging in your equipment and it said you had about 125 Watts left.
