i think i have an illegal knife?

we bought a car that had a HUGE knife under the seat. its a handcrafted by” the warrior ” special formulated stainless made by “saburo japan” individually numbered f678 9 INCH BLADE wood handle,a leather sheath. and its double edged is this illegal in the united states? we dont want to sell or pawn something illegal. plz help.
i dont know if it is illegal please tell me

yah i know its legal if you have like a permit or something but its not ours my dad wants to pawn and get some quick cash.

This is a collectors sword. As long as you carry it to a showing, event of martial arts, etc., it is ok to have out of house.
It is illegal in most of the 50 states to own a weapon over 5″ in Blade length.
