Does the US have a counter-invasion plan?
Hypothetically speaking, in 10 years China somehow manages to build a Navy and Air Force that can compete with the US, have the ability to successfully disable our cyber-network, and forge a military alliance with Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. (The Chinese also reduce economic trade with the US and redirect trade to Russia thus bolstering both economies and slightly hurting the US economy)The Chinese then make a massive shock invasion on the East Coast (I say East Coast because the Pacific is still controlled by the US) and manage to capture key cities ( e.g. DC, New York, Baltimore, Boston, etc.) Would the US have a public plan to countering the invasion or would it be private? If so, what steps would you suggest that the US would take?
Please be serious and remember, this is all hypothetical.
I think the US does have a counter-invasion plan, because I think they adopted the counter-invasion plan for countering a possible Soviet invasion (which I assume they had 20 years ago) to modern warfare. I don’t have any idea of what this plan may be, as I suppose it is a closely guarded secret. I think the best defensive strategy would be a mobile defense force – a force that can respond to any threat rapidly. I also think the public would be kept up-to-date and receive tips and warnings via radio, television,etc.
