Folding Pocket

Folding Pocket
Is it legal to carry my folding knife in my pocket in California, 4″ blade, 8″ OAL, teethed blade.?

Over all length of knife is a little more than 8 inches, the blade is 4 inches and has teeth at the first two inches. Is it 100 legal for me to carry this concealed in my pocket, 24/7 since it is not a fixed blade?

Under “State” law, yes, so long as the knife does not meet the CA definition of a switchblade, butterfly knife or gravity knife.

In general this must mean that there is a lock to hold it closed, a “tendency to remain closed” once the lock is released, and no spring to make it open. Other than that there is no length limit in CA law on either open or concealed carry of folding knives.

BUT…. there are a thousand city and county ordinances on the subject, so check with your local jurisdiction.
