Help me find a skimcoat/leveling compound to use over vinyl and under hardwood?

I’m installing hardwood over a vinyl floor. I need to level out some humps/dips. Can you find a brand/product that will adhere to the vinyl, and can be up to 3/8″ thick? And also okay to put under hardwood? I’m still trying to decide between a floating floor like Bruce Lock and Fold, or an Engineered product.

Use self levelling urethane paint for your floating floor, it is marvellous.
