Why won’t my iPod Mini copy songs from my purchased folder in iTunes?

I bought an iPod Mini and loaded it with music from my brother’s iTunes. Then I brought it home and tried to upload the music in my iTunes purchased folder and it won’t do upload any of the songs there. How can I get this to work and not wipe out the music I uploaded from my brother’s iTunes?

You cant have both unless you dl one of those programs that let you load the stuff on your ipod onto your computer then you put all of that in your library and combine it with the purchased folder. that is the only way.
