Figured Hydrangea
Why are my hydrangeas only blooming around the edges & not in the middle?
I have had the bush planted since April 2008 and it is very well established…big green leaves & huge buds all over it (about 12). I just can’t figure out why the inner part of the bloom is not really blooming…check out the pics…

Will it ever bloom normally?? If so, what can I do to make this happen?
When it was given to me, it had full regular blooms...before it was planted...
You have what's called a "French Lace" Hydrangea and that's how it looks. It will never have a full round head. That's a different breed of hydrangea.
I'm trying to root a French Lace myself, as I think them quite striking.
