Can a good fighter with a knife beat a heavyweight mma fighter?

There is no way to answer this question. Yes, a trained warrior with a knife can take out a MMA athlete. The reverse is also true. An MMA athlete can take out a trained warrior with a knife.

Some of the best warriors on the planet will never compete in the ring. They might consider it a waste of their talents.

Someone who practices a stealth art like Ninpo or has trained as a Navy Seal or special forces military assassin, they are not going to announce themselves before starting a fair fight. They are going to sneak up behind you and slit your thought before you know what hit you. They dont have to be bigger, hit harder or even be faster. They just need a sharp knife and the element of surprise.

I think some of the special forces type fighters might do OK in the ring….or they might get their ass kicked. However, I think the majority of MMA fighters would be virtually powerless against them if they were coming for a hit job. Someone skilled in the stealth arts isnt going to fight fair, they will hide behind corners, use whatever props are available to their advantage and end the fight before you know what hit you. You probably wont even see them coming and you might not even see them leave.
