Does fencing only use french rapiers?

i am interested in fencing, but whenever i see people fencing they use the french swords. can you also use medieval swords? if so where can i go to start a fencing club

I think you might have the wrong idea about fencing, look up olympic fencing on youtube, but there’s three weapons, not swords, trust me, my coach gives push ups if she hears you saying that, but they are epee, foil and sabre, each is different, i don’t have time to go into the long winded explination of each, so search articles on wikipedia for them
