What kind of large or extra large dog to get for my family?

I am wanting a puppy for my family and really love huge dogs. I have a cat. I also have two sons age 5 and 3 and a baby girl due in feb. I am looking at low grooming as in no haircuts and all of that and really love mastiffs. What would be a good dog for my family that will be large but good with small children
i do like mastiffs but im not sure how good they are as family / children dogs.

great dane they are graceful and really just a big big lap dog they wont knockover your kids if he gets enough exirsize and he would be a good watchdog nobody would try to break in knowing you had a great dane their not aggressive though they are very loving and would never need to be taken to the grommers they only need a bath ever ounce in awhile and a good brush with a curry comb, you would think they eat a ton but great danes have a high matabolism so you wont be buying food all the time, the only thing bad about a great dane is their lifespan they only live about 9 years i think you should deffanitly think about getting a great dane.
