Judge Camp Pleads Guilty To Substance Abuse Charges

As part of a plea deal negotiated with prosecutors, Senior United States District Court Judge Jack Camp Jr. has pleaded at fault to drug charges. The judge has admitted to giving Ramos money to buy drugs. At the maximum, the judge could face four years in jail for these allegations. Many of the cases he adjudicated while committing these offenses may have to be re-heard.

A former Federal District Court Judge, Jack Camp Jr. had been charged with various counts of drug possession and firearm possession. Just before the former judge pleaded guilty to three charges, he retired from the judiciary. He pleaded guilty to possession of illegal drugs as a 67 year old. He also gave Sherry Ann Ramos access to his government laptop and aided and abetted a felon’s possession of cocaine. On March 4 he can be sentenced after being arrested on October 1. As a Vietnam Veteran, Ronald Reagan appointed him. In 1987 this happened.

Sherry Ann Ramos is an exotic dancer and prostitute. The charges against Jack Camp have to do with her a lot. Judge Camp received a lap dance and the phone number from Ramos in an Atlanta strip club. Sherry Ann Ramos met with Judge Camp for the next few months. He paid her for sex during that time. Roxicodone, marijuana and cocaine were all used by the couple while together also. The judge wanted to see Sherry Ann Ramos’ criminal record. He said he was renting her an apartment in order to do this.

Ramos becomes an informant later

Ramos began working as an informant for the FBI during their relationship at one point. Ramos is named as “CI-1” in all the court documents in the case against Jack Camp Jr. The Judge had been only caught with her help. The arrest and prosecution of Judge Camp, with Sherry Ann Ramos’ details, has become difficult. The hearings had many judges withdraw from them. This is because Jack Camp had many personal relationships with these judges. In the end, the Judge released a statement through a friend saying he “holds himself accountable for his personal actions and will strive to better understand and overcome the causes of his poor judgment.”
