Can a girl be a EMS/EMT?

I’m planning on going to a local school to train to be a EMS/EMT. I’m wondering, is this do-able since I’m a girl? I’m 5’9 1/2 and weight just nearly 130lbs, so I’m no weight lifter or truck heaver. But I’m very passionate about becoming an EMT. I was planning on doing pre-med to be a surgeon, but the costs just don’t fit into my budget.

You’re fine! at my fire dept, one of the chief officers is a girl. no problem. weight lifting isnt such a big issue
