Edge Throwing

How do you do “classy” goth, or throw an edge on being preppy?

1. I am not a poser
2. I am not trying to be anyone else
I am asking how to not be a poser. I usually wear things you could find Smart Set , style wise: just a step down from khaki and collared shirts. I’m heading out with a guy friend I’m getting pretty close to and he accepts me the way I am, but is Goth himself and wants to do my make-up a little darker and edgier tonight. What could I wear to put this look together without looking like a poser or out of my element?
To one of the answerers: I’m trying to go out and have some fun, just shake things up, but I don’t want to look completely trashy, which is why I’m asking for some advice.

just add a few touches u wouldn`t normally try, like makeup-wise, maybe wing your eyeliner out to the side, past the end of your eyes, or maybe using a “smoky” eye look with darker eyeshadow colors…as for the clothing, maybe u could add some black in your outfit, nothing to the extreme, just add accents to what u would already wear, like perhaps an “edgier” scarf & bag, or some funky jewelry…if your guy already likes u, then i`m sure whatever u choose will be ok for him…just be yourself & enjoy experimenting with a bit of a different style!!! have fun!!!
