If you are Airborne 101st division in the army does that mean you must be infantry?

or can you be in human resources and still be airborne and why is there different airborne patches?? i have seen the eagle,,the sword and two AA that say airborne….What exactly does that mean?? How do you get into divisions? whats that all about??

101st Airborne is a Division. It is composed of infantry as well as support MOS’s. While the Division name has not changed, 101st no longer conducts airborne operations. The screaming eagle is the insignia for the division.

THe AA patch is for the “All Americans”, which is the patch for the 82nd Airborne Division.

You get into either of the divisions the same way as you get into any other division- you get stationed there either by requesting it or needs of the Army. Your best bet in getting stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division is to go to jump school first. Being airborne qualified is not necessary with the 101st as they are no longer on jump status.
