Dragon Phoenix

Always: Dragon vs. Phoenix?
I wonder why is it that these two mythical creatures are always portrayed in conflict with each other. I’ve seen this mostly on japanese anime.
is it supposed to have an origin or cultural references on japanese or chinese mythologies? if so, kindly explain. thanks.
it seems they have some relationship?
They are not in conflict, but rather shown in “harmony”, the dragon and phoenix is a symbol of harmony in Japanese and Chinese culture. In China, Fenghuang is a mythical bird superficially similar to the phoenix. It is the second most-respected legendary creature (second to the dragon), mostly used to represent the empress. The phoenix is the leader of birds. In Japan, the phoenix is called hō-ō “Immortal Bird”.
Dragons are commonly symbols of good luck or health in China and Japan. Asian dragons are considered as mythical rulers of weather, specifically rain and water, and are usually depicted as the guardians of pearls, most used to represent the emperor.
In ancient China, they can often be found in the decorations for weddings or royalty, along with dragons. This is because the Chinese considered the dragon and phoenix symbolic of blissful relations between husband and wife, another common yin and yang metaphor. Each mythical creature unites their own qualities and creates a balance and harmony.
