Is there ever going to be a new Double Dragon game?

What video game company holds the rights to the franchise?

From what I was able to tell a few years ago, Atlus held the rights to the franchise (largely since the original owners don’t exist anymore, and Atlus re-released the original on GBA in like 2004).

And I doubt a new one will be released. For some reason I don’t understand, beat-em-ups aren’t popular these days.
