Hypothetically, if a nuclear bomb detonated in the desert, would melted sand form a sheet of glass?

Lets say, hypothetically, that a nuclear (Or an explosion of similar magnitude) hit a desert environment, covered in sand etc.
Would the heat caused by the explosion be high enough to form a glass sheet?
