Dagger Rapier

In Hamlet, what’s the difference between a rapier and a dagger???? any thoughts, answers, thanks!!!?
A rapier is a sword: it’s long, thin, pointy. A dagger is more like a knife than a sword, it is shorter, wider, and can have a carved tip.
I’m sure you know what a sword looks like, but as for images of a dagger… if you have ever watched the TV Show “LOST”, John Locke carries around a short dagger (it looks like a curved knife).
Hope that helped
