Earlier today they promoted Greg Sherman to GM and Craig Billington to assistant GM. They also fired Head Coach Tony Granato and assistants Jacques Cloutier, Dave Barr and Goaltending coach Jeff Hackett.

I love all the moves the Avs made, something had to change. This past year was a long year and a year I didn’t expect. The Avalanche need to sign some players and develop new talent. We relied on to many older players that got injured. It was a joint effort that contributed to the Avs failure. I wanted Roy to coach but he turned us down. Letting go of Joe Q was the dumbest move we’ve ever made.
