How do you get an appraisal on a collectors item?

I have some 1950′s comic books, how do i go about getting them appraised? I want to sell them but want to know how i should determine the worth so i know what to ask for.

Your town should have a comic book collector that can appraise them for you, for a fee. Look in the yellow pages under “Comic Books” and you should finding a listing or two . If you don’t have a comic book store ~ check with a local rare & antiquarian book store, instead. They should also be able to appraise the comic books.

If you don’t want to pay to have them appraised ~ sometimes you can just search the internet for some idea of how much they are worth. This is what I did for my husband’s collection of circa 1960s comic books and was able to find to find the prices of pretty much all of them.
