Coated Blade
Will using a leather strop on a teflon coated blade remove the coating?
I’ve got a nice folding knife I’d like to give a nice razor edge too with a leather strop but I’m affraid it would take off some of the teflon coating. Will it be ok with the strop or will it rub off the coating? (cause that would suck 
)

Also Alan, Im pretty sure when you use the strop for a really sharp edge, dont you lay the blade nearly flat on the leather? ( obviously not exactly flat but at an angle thats near touching).
I think i’ll give it a try on my older teflon coated blade that already has some scratches, worst that could happen is I make my older knife sharper

The leather sharpens the metal by removing the microscopic burrs and creating a smooth, fine edge. It in fact removes metal.
If the leather will remove metal, it will also remove softer materials like polymers. TEFLON is a polymer and it will be removed.
