How can the top on my Jeep go?

I was sitting outside work the other day, and down the road came a Jeep Wrangler (just like mine) and it looked like it just had the first front part of the top flipped up!? (almost like a sunroof)…..I was wondering if that is a different top or can I do that with my top. The soft top that I have, the windows have to come out for the whole top to come off, then I start from the front clips and fold it back.
