katana sword advice!?

k i have a real deal katana that i bought from e-sword .com for 4k dollars and i have a paul chen iato and a musashi katana and a masahiro white shadow warrior which sucks btw. anyway i wanna buy a good katana hand forged,folded (if possible),9620 spring steal or anything harder made for tameshigiri dojo cutting,clay tempered,true hamon of course, brass fuchi menuki kishari and habaki, completely hand made and hand honed, real ray skin and silk or Cotton or leather ito (doesn’t matter) with or with out a bo-hi doesn’t mater much. anyway i want something very strong and very sharp, hand made and it must be an ultra cutter for the price range of 300 or lower to –> 550 600$ max. so please give me some advice and links or buyers or sites or whatever. thnx

Ok, so you decided not to fix the Mashahiro….good choice. The site I sent you to before has a great selection of katana by CAS Hanwei from Hanwei forge.and they are decently priced. In your price range you’re looking at the Practical line (running $199 to $450 but the lower end of the Shinto series ( http://www.nihonzashi.com/shinken_shinto_xl_light.aspx )from $440 to $660

But remember, folded steel looks nice and is traditional, but no longer necessary and unless done PERFECTLY is dangerous for cutting.
Also stay away from leather ito. tends to get slippery when wet (and my hands get damp after a while. I prefer cotton, but that’s just me.
