did arab soldiers in the medieval era poke themselves with their curved blades accidentally?

I’m curious about this because I have noticed that arab cavalry sabers of the past are way too curved. The tip end can almost touch the rider’s neck. Did such accidents happen?

Not in the hands of a professional it wouldn’t.

And for the Cavalry, a blade has to be curved, to be effective. Moving at the speed of a horse, and trying to stab, or smash is not the best idea with a sword. That’s what spears and Clubs are for.

I’m sure many novices would cut themselves, maybe a few idiots at the barracks.

I would also like to point out though, that not all Sabers are curved. But you are probably referring more to the Scimitar.
