When to wet sand?!!!!?!?!?

Im restoring a bike, and ive gotten all the paint off, and right now its just a blank steel frame, so I dont know if I should wet sand now, or should i do it after i put the primer on??

The value of wet sanding (using special wet sandpaper) is this: It keeps paint/primer from clumping on the sandpaper, it keeps dust down, and it imparts a wet, reflective surface on the work so that you can see any small imperfections.

As long as the frame is fairly smooth and doesn’t need any filling, you can start priming. Wet sand with a very fine grit (~600) to knock down any high spots/orange peel/spatter and recoat with more primer if any holes or bare spots appear.
