Why do American comics/ merchandise do better than Manga/Anime even in Japan?

I read about the top 100 best selling comics and it didn’t even list Manga in the US, and I was curious on how it does in Japan to be only shocked to find out that American comics do better there to! But why, I mean I read about the Dark Knight, and saw it out-grossed every anime movie there, and even Spider Man 3 did as well. I thought that in China, Manga would be better than American based comics and was wrong again. I was even shocked to see that Manga even tried to copy the American Comics – ex: Teen Titans, Bat Man Manga, Witch Blade. SO my question is why is Marvel/ DC SO SO SO much better than Manga? Is it because it never gets old and is less predictable?

Because bro, like you said they never get old, and they’re always come up with new gigs. they’re like the simpsons, constantly changeing its just awesome. I also agree with the third guy, first guy’s an idiot. But to also the 3rd guy, for the cartoon style yes. but Manga came before American comics by 30 years. 1st American comic, not Marvel/DC, came out like in 1907 (1st Westerner one came out in 1870) and the 1st Jap comic came out in 1860. The fact is, the Eastern comics like to stick to the old ways, they started getting smart and started to pull away, thus made Anime like speed racer which was also manga, but in the end, they went back to that damn traditional concept ultimately screwing themselves.
