Old serpent (dragon?) handled curved knife gold tone handle steel blade? need help identifying it?

First of all, I don’t know how to put a picture on this post so if anyone is willing to help us try to identify the knife, please email us at crimstoo@yahoo.com and then we can send pics that way. We inherited this knife and were told (don’t know if it is true or not) that it was used for some sort of sacrificing. It is pretty ornate and obviously old but still beauriful. The handle is brass or bronze? with some sort of serpent or dragon with an open mouth that we were told used to have some sort of gem in it. It is very heavy, around 12 inches and curved. The blade is detailed a bit, curved also and silver colored. Don’t know if Damascus or what?
We are sooo curious about this knife and cannot find any help to figure it out online as of yet. Would really appreciate any kind of help with it at all.
