Is it recommended to burn wood from a black locust tree in a fireplace?

I had to cut down a very big black locust tree and I am wondering if this type of wood does well in a fireplace? It seemed to be a bit on the sappy side to me.

If it’s properly seasoned and dried, it will be fine. It’s a very hard wood and might burn pretty hot so I’d mix it with other kinds of wood in the stove.
