Can black widow spiders bite grapes and if so are the grapes safe to eat?

I bought a bag of grapes, and found a black widow in them. Will they inject venom into the grapes? Are the grapes safe to eat?

No, black widow spiders don’t have any reason to bite a grape. If one did, you’d be fine. Your stomach acid can actually break down the proteins in their venom, also their venom breaks down naturally pretty fast. The grapes are unaffected by the widow spiders.

Black widow spiders are often used as natural pest control by grape farmers in California. They occasionally get shipped with the grapes.
