Coming To Grips With The HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Printer And HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Replacement Toner

The HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP printer using HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP laser toner is Hewlett-Packard’s lowest-priced multifunction printer, though it certainly doesn’t deliver low-rated features or functions. In actuality, it’s print results are probably close to being print shop quality. It is able to take on most tasks and finish them with a speed and accuracy not usually seen in many printers — let alone multifunction printers — in this price range.

This excellent print quality comes, though, at somewhat of a trade-off, which is something that most multifunction printers ask a user to accept. To get good print quality, one will have to be comfortable with a print speed rate of about 12 pages per minute for black and white and eight pages for color. It’s no speed demon but most users looking for multifunction printers probably wouldn’t care.

Print resolution as far as the copier is concerned is handled at about 600 dpi. Anything that emerges from 1312 will come out looking sharp, crisp, clean and clear. As a copier, the machine can enlarge any copy up to four times its size or reduce it down to one quarter of its size with no trouble at all. For best results, print with HP CM1312 MFP laser toner.

From the time the print job is sent to the 1312 until the time the first copy emerges is about 25 seconds for a black-and-white about 31 seconds for a color copy. This isn’t exactly quick, but it’s print quality will be uniformly excellent, which is probably what Hewlett-Packard intended for it to do by slowing down its production until the machine could produce something excellent across-the-board.

Keep in mind that the 1312 is a multifunction printer that can also scan and copy. This means that Hewlett-Packard has had to design certain compromises into the model, though it really does do all three of its functions quite nicely. When one considers that it is reasonably priced, one will be happy to accept a scanner that can handle 1200 dots per inch resolution, which is actually above the standard of most other machines in this price point.

Standard memory is also fine — especially for a multifunction printer — at 120 MB. There is no capability for memory upgrade, but that is usually the case for most multifunction units sold by this company in this particular market segment. It’s easy enough to hook the printer up to either a PC, Mac or even to a small network, as it uses a high-speed USB connection port. No other wired connectivity capability is available.

Durability with the 1312 is excellent, and it has a monthly maximum duty cycle of around 30,000 impressions. This means that the 1312 will be able to copy or print up to 30,000 sheets of paper before it will need any sort of maintenance. Additionally, it can hold about 150 sheets of paper within its tray and will be able to print out on the wide variety of stock such as transparencies and envelopes. It runs off of a number of different Windows or Mac operating systems as well.

Taken altogether, the HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP printer does it all and at a price ($350 for a fresh, refurbished unit) that’s sure to make the owner of a small office/home office business stand up and take notice. It isn’t the fastest printer on the market, but that’s not the rule this particular unit was built to take on. It is very durable and produces high-quality product, which actually is the role it’s meant to fill. You will need to have extra toner on hand.  This will allow you to keep printing when ink runs out.  You can either get your HP CM1312 MFP cartridges from a store, or online.
