Antique Japanese

Antique Japanese
Where can I find information on a specific south asian antique?

I have a ceramic bowl with a lid that I would like to know the history of. It is hand painted, with pictures of what I consider to be really ugly, what I think to be chinese, men, with mean faces. The marking on the bottom is in a type of chinese or maybe japanese(or other south east asian) style of writing. Please help me figure out where this antique came from.

You need to repost the question with a photo of the bowl and the mark on the bottom. The reign mark should be simple to identify. The men are probably gods. I can probably tell you more when you repost.
